Kwara needs N300bn for infrastructure – Ahmed

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, on Wednesday said the state needed about N300bn forinfrastructural upgrade.

He stated that the state government had concluded arrangements to set up an Infrastructure Development Fund to provide a pool of funds to finance a holistic infrastructure development of the state.

Ahmed spoke in Ilorin during a monthly interactive programme, tagged  ‘Governor Explains’.

“The state needs about N300bn for the upscaling of infrastructure in the state to an acceptable standard,” he said.

According  to him, this explains why the State government is in the capital market to raise N30bn to support infrastructural needs.

The needs, he noted, included electricity, water, energy, education and security, which he said are critical to the development of the state.
