Anti-Amaechi lawmaker warns Assembly members against joining APC

The leader of the five anti-Rotimi Amaechi lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Evans Bipi, has warned that any members of the State House of Assembly that defects to the All Progressives Congress should consider his seat vacant.
Bipi, who issued the warning in statement in Port Harcourt on Thursday, said any lawmaker that followed the State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, would no longer retain his position in the House.
The lawmaker, who prides himself as the authentic Speaker of the State House of Assembly, also said Amaechi would be made to account for funds that had accrued to Rivers within the past six years.
Bipi alleged that Amaechi awarded spurious contracts to his political cronies in the APC with the state’s resources as a way of funding the opposition party.
He said, “Let me also say here that any lawmaker, who chooses to defect to the APC, will have his seat declared vacant and by-elections would be conducted to fill them up.
“Governor Amaechi awarded spurious contracts to his political cronies in the APC as a way of funding the party to the overall detriment of the Rivers people.
“I want to assure all of us in the state that by the time we resume seating in the House, Governor Amaechi will be summoned to give account of every kobo accruable to the state.”
