Northern CAN berates bishops over visit to Lamido

  
All is not well with the leadership of the Northern Christian Association as a visit of Bishops from the zone to Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has divided the ranks of the association.

Under the forum of Bishops and Eminent Clergy of Nigeria, led by Prophet Jones Ode, the clerics had visited the governor under the guise of preaching religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence.

However, the development had on Thursday drew the ire of the Northern CAN, which has vehemently condemned the action of the Bishops.

The General Secretary of Northern CAN in Kaduna State, Prof. Daniel Babayi, described the visit as insincere, accusing Lamido of shunning the state chapter of the CAN over the years.

The CAN leader noted that the local chapter of the association had written several letters to the governor, requesting a visit, which had been ignored.
