FRSC officer slumps during parade in Minna
An officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps slumped at the passing out parade of the commission’s trainees at the Police Training School in Minna on Thursday.
The officer, who was a member of the Corps Colour-Party, could not bear standing under the scorching sun for over 1 hour 30 minutes after the ‘Matching in Review Order’.
One of the officers, who noticed the uneasiness of the officer, quickly called on other officers but before they got to the distress personnel, he slumped but was quickly replaced by another officer, who had to bear the Nigerian flag.
The officer was rushed to the shade of a mango tree, where other senior officers try to resuscitate him asking, “What is your name? Can you hear me? Stay alive.”
He was subsequently rushed to a waiting ambulance belonging to the state government to an undisclosed private hospital in Minna.
Unconfirmed report had it that the safety officers and doctors were still battling to revive him as various life saving gadgets were fixed on him.
As of the time of filing this report, all attempts to get official confirmation from the FRSC about the state of the officer proved abortive as the Public Relations Officer of the state sector command was said to be on leave and nobody could speak on his behalf.
