Ex-LG Boss Killed by Homosexual Partner in Katsina

The Police Command of Katsina State has confirmed that the ex-Chairman of Ingawa Local Government Area, late Samaila Magaji, was murdered by his estranged homosexual partner.

A 17-year-old Abba Lawal, a native of Daura, has gruesomely murdered Magaji at his residence at the Barhim Quarters, Katsina.

However, the police took prompt actions to investigate the recent murder and arrested the suspect, who was said to be with the deceased at the time of the murder.

Muhammad Hurdi, the State Commissioner of Police, has said in a press statement on October 31, 2013, Thursday that the suspect had confessed to killing Magaji, whom he said was his "boyfriend".

Mr. Hurdi added that the suspect confessed to the police that he killed Magaji, because he had made a lot of promises to him [Lawal] which he had failed to redeem.

The CP also revealed that the suspect confirmed to police that after he was dismissed from school, due to his indulgence in homosexuality, Magaji had promised to get him back to school but never did.

It has been learnt that the suspect was the late council boss' boyfriend who had visited him severally in Kano and other places to carry out their affair discreetly, before Lawal was allegedly invited to the house of the deceased on the ill-fated day.

"We recovered knives and blood-stained clothes at the scene of the incident. Upon sighting the knife, the suspect fainted and after recovering, he made all these confessions," the CP added.
