EFCC arraigns prisons comptroller, inspector for stealing gas oil kept in their custody

TWO top officials of Ogwashi-Uku prisons in Delta State were Friday arraigned before an Asaba high court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly stealing gas oil kept in their custody.
Arraigned were a deputy Comptroller of Prisons in charge of Ogwashi-Uku prison, Diete Wure Wisdom and a senior Inspector of Prison, Ayamede Peter.
They were arraigned on a four-count charge which read thus:
Diete Wure Wisdom, male and Ayamede Peter, male, while being a deputy Comptroller of Prisons in charge of Ogwashi-Uku prison, a senior Inspector of Prison at Ogwashi-Uku prison respectively on or about April 2012 at Ogwashi-Uku in the Ogwashi-Uku judicial division did conspire with each other to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence.
Diete Wure Wisdom, male and Ayamede Peter, male, while being a deptu Comptroller of Prisons in charge of Ogwashi-Uku prison, a senior Inspector of Prison at Ogwashi-Uku prison respectively on or about April 2012 at Ogwashi-Uku did steal 27,000 liters of automatic gas oil (A.G.O) being the content of the 134 drums of 200 liters each loaded in a truck with registration number Enugu XN 789 ENU valued at about N4,020,000.00 property of the Federal Republic of Nigeria kept for safe keeping with the Nigerian Prison Service Ogwashi-Uku which you were in charge and thereby committed an offence.
Diete Wure Wisdom, male and Ayamede Peter, male while being a deputy Comptroller of Prisons in charge of Ogwashi-Uku prison, a senior Inspector of Prison at Ogwashi-Uku prison respectively.
