APC’s spokesman attack on amnesty programme political -Agency

The Presidential Amnesty Office has said an attack on the programme by the Interim National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is politically motivated.
The Head of Media and Communications of the PAP, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, linked Mohammed comments with the next general elections in 2015,  in an electronic mail on Thursday.
Mohammed had reportedly said on Channels Television on Wednesday that the Amnesty Programme was a waste of national resources as it had not curbed the incidence of militancy in the  Niger Delta.
Alabrah said attacks on successful Federal Government programmes would increase as the 2015 elections drew nearer.
He lamented that while emphasis was placed on human capacity development  in other parts of the world,  Mohammed and those in the APC would rather play politics with it in Nigeria.
