FG spent N120bn on road projects in 2 years -Minister
The federal government spent over N120 billion to complete 32 federal roads across the nation, Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, said.
Onolememen made this known yesterday at the 2013 ministerial platform, an initiative of the federal Ministry of Information designed to promote national conversation and good governance.
He noted that before the inception of the present administration in May 2011, Nigerian roads were termed as ‘death traps’ but within the interval of two years, the ministry completed 32 road projects covering about 2000km with others nearing completion.
The minister put the cost of the road projects at N126billion of which government has so far paid N120 billion.
