Unknown persons kill cleric in Enugu
A cleric in Enugu State, Victor Nnaduagwu, has been killed by unknown persons.
The late Nnaduagwu lived at Ilukpe Street, Asata area of the state.
As at Thursday evening, The PUNCH learnt that most of the residents had fled the street over fear of police arrest.
Residents in the area said that the battered body of the late cleric was discovered in "Asata Stream" on Wednesday morning.
"Some persons who had gone to fetch water in the morning saw his lifeless body and raised alarm which attracted many people to the scene.
"It was discovered that the pastor had several wounds in his body, suggestive of the fact that they may have killed him by hitting with hard objects. Blood was also gushing out of his nose and mouth", a source disclosed.
The source, a lady, described the late cleric as an easy going man, “who ensured that we had security in this neighbourhood.”
She said, "He was our security man in this street; you can see the location of his house, so each time he was always there with his dog and with that he scared bad people away from this area. We are indeed going to miss him."
