KANO EMIR RETURNS FROM MEDICAL TRIP TOMORROW

Arrangements have been concluded for the return of the Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero who was flown abroad for treatment after he took ill months ago, Daily Trust has learnt.
Unofficial palace sources told our correspondent that the Emir is expected to return tomorrow Wednesday and that top members of the emirate council are making last minute arrangements for his return.
A circular on the proposed return of the Emir has been issued by the emirate council, Daily Trust further gathered.
Already, reports of his planned return are dominating public discussion among Kano people.
Last week, a senior councilor in the emirate the Galadiman Kano Alhaji Tijjani Hashim said the Emir is responding to treatment and urged the people of the state to continue to pray for his quick recovery.
Also while speaking on a local radio station, one of the Emir’s sons Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who is the district head of Dala said he visited the Emir at a Dubai based Hospital. He said they had discussion with the Emir and that he was getting better.
In a telephone interview, the Special Adviser to Kano state governor on Emirate Council Affairs, Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya Sanka confirmed the proposed return of the Emir.
Our correspondent reports that this is the first time the Emir will be spending months outside his emirate since the commencement of his reign 50 years ago. His absence led to the cancellation of Durbar at end of the last Ramadan fast. The emir is returning home about two weeks to the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-kabir.
