Nemanja Vidic cannot understand why Wayne Rooney would want to leave a club with the history and tradition of Manchester United.
The Old Trafford skipper admits he has also been the focus of transfer speculation over the years but says he remains committed to the reigning Premier League champions - and believes teammate Rooney should follow suit.
Rooney has been the subject of two bids from title rivals Chelsea - both of which were rejected by United - and the Serbian said: "There's so much speculation, so much talk about whether he'll leave or stay.
"He's at the best club in the world. I believe Man United is the biggest club in the world and I think there's no point to go anywhere.
"I have to say the last four years I was in that position as well. People were talking about me leaving the club.
"But I'm still here and I'm enjoying playing for this club. Nothing has changed."
