Anambra Guber: Court Orders PDP To Submit Result Of Primaries

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt Friday issued a fresh order for the factional chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State; Mr. Ejike Oguebego, to submit the result of the gubernatorial primary election which produced Senator Andy Uba as winner to the party’s national secretariat.

The court, presided over by Justice J.A. Nganjiwa, also ordered that the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP, should receive the result of the said party primaries.

The ruling came after lead counsel to plaintiffs, Mr. Jude Nnodum, SAN, made an oral complain to the court that instead, the PDP has suspended the 1st plaintiff, Mr. Ejike Oguebego and Senator Andy Uba as a result of the earlier order given by the court.

Nnodum told the court that the PDP has gone further, despite the order of court, to issue a Certificate of Return to Tony Nwoye who is the winner of the Ken Emeakayi-led PDP primaries.

He, therefore, prayed the court to take action that will protect the earlier order given by it.

Recall that Justice Nganjjiwa had on August 28, this year, restrained INEC and the PDP, from accepting the outcome of the primary election conducted by the other factional chairman, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, pending the hearing and determination of the motion for interlocutory injunction.
