The Joint Task Force (JTF) command in Yobe State announced that 24-hour curfew imposed in Potiskum on August 6, 2013 is now relaxed.
The appropriate statement containing this fresh directive has been signed by the state's JTF spokesperson, Captain Eli Lazarus.
He said the curfew was relaxed following the completion of the JTF's special operations in Potiskum and its environs.
"Upon the completion of special operations in Potiskum town, the Joint Task Force (JTF) relaxes the twenty four hour curfew imposed on the town recently with effect from today Wednesday 7 August 2013," Mr. Lazarus said.
He, however, added that an earlier curfew of 10 p.m. till 6 a.m. imposed on the state is still in force.
"The JTF appreciates the patience and usual cooperation of the residents of Potiskum and the travelers through the major towns of the state," the statement continued.
Finally, the statement wished the entire Muslim ummah a happy Eid-El-Fitr celebration.*
