HEALTH WORKER ARRESTED FOR FILMING POLICEMEN

Policemen attached to the Area E command, Festac town, Lagos have arrested a health worker for allegedly attempting to film them while trying to nab a commercial motorcyclist.
The health worker identified as Gregory Ekene Muonyililo, was arrested at the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos for trying to take video shots of policemen who were allegedly harassing a yet to be identified commercial motorcyclist for traffic offence.
He is presently being detained by the police in Festac.
There have been cases of video clips showing Policemen demanding for gratification from motorists posted on social network in recent times.
In one incident who appeared in the video, a Police sergent was sacked.
The victim’s brother, Onyeka said his brother who is a medical representative of a pharmaceutical company at Amuwo Odofin was arrested after he attempted to video some policemen who were harassing a commercial motorcyclist.  
He said, “The policemen set up a checkpoint in front of his office yesterday (on Monday) and were harassing bike men. He went outside to get something and when he saw it happened, he started videoing it.
“Although he should have been more discreet, they saw him and became agitated. They collected his phone from him and after a few words, they collected the phone from him and left.”
Onyeka  said the Policemen returned to his brother’s office at about 4 pm and took him away to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja, where “he was detained and slept there.”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy  Superintendent of Police (DSP), denied claims that the policemen were asking the commercial motorcyclist for gratification.
She also denied that the victim was taken to SARS but the X-Squad department where she said investigations are ongoing.
