An Abeokuta Chief Magistrate’s court, yesterday, remanded two men in prison for allegedly robbing two persons of their Toyota Sienna buses valued at N4 million.
The police prosecutor, ASP Paul Etusi, alleged that the accused persons, Sunday Innocent, 29 and Sunday Philip 30, committed the offence on January 25 and April 10 at Orimenimu town, near Abeokuta.
He said the suspects robbed one Celestine Oduga and Rose Ajayi of their buses with number plate Lagos KSF 291 AW and Lagos KTU 678 BE respectively.
Etusi, who alleged that the accused persons were very dangerous and notorious, said they were armed with two locally made revolver pistols at the time of the robbery.
He said: “The two are very dangerous and notorious for harassing road users and robbing them of their vehicles.
The accused, whose pleas were not taken by the court, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery.
The magistrate, Mr Anthony Araba, ordered that they be remanded in Oba prison while the court awaited the Director of Public Prosecution’s (DPP) advice. He adjourned the case to September 29.
