Beware of Akpabio, youths tell Jonathan

Youths, under the aegis of the Northern Emancipation Network, on Tuesday urged President Goodluck Jonathan to be cautious in his relationship with the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum, Godswill Akpabio.

Akpabio, who is the governor of Akwa Ibom State, the youth forum said, was "courting enemies" for the President.

Coordinator of the group, Mallam Usman Galadanchi, stated this at a briefing in Kaduna.

The youth leader said, "We have watched Akpabio's actions and are now convinced that he does not mean well for President Jonathan and the President must caution him before he destroys his goodwill.

"We also see his hands in the recent problem in the Nigeria Governors' Forum as another deliberate move calculated to tarnish the goodwill of the President while pretending to be saving his interest.

"As Mr. President's sympathisers, we caution him to take a critical look at Akpabio's  actions  and  see  if they are  meant to serve  his  political interest or not.

"The unfortunate way Akpabio  has caused misunderstanding  between the President and Governors Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State and  Babangida Aliyu of Niger State after  having earlier knocked his head against the people and government of Cross River State over oil wells."
