Boko Haram Crackdown: Yobe Too Declares Dusk -To-Dawn Curfew

Yobe State today takes cue from Adamawa and Borno states six days after the imposition of state of emergency in the three states by imposing a dust to down curfew across the state.

The imposition of the curfew is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Information Abdullahi Bego said curfew time across the state is now 6:00 PM to 6:00AM daily.

"Consequently, restriction on movement now starts from 6:00PM to6:00AM daily throughout the state with effect from today Monday 20th May 2013"

The statement said the adjustment of the curfew followed meeting the governor had with heads of law enforcement agencies in the state.

While urging the public not to relent in prayers for peace, the statement urges the people to continue with the exemplary support and cooperation with security agents to ensure lasting peace in the state.

The imposition of the dust to down curfew is coming six days after the imposition of the state of emergency on three states of the north east geopolitical zone of the country by Mr president Dr Good luck Jonathan.

Since then, Adamawa and Borno states have imposed a dust to down curfew across the state as security forces continue to move around town to ensure compliance.
