A 17-year-old boy yesterday afternoon tried to stow away in a plane at the Benin airport, less than two weeks after 13-year-old Daniel Ricky Oikhana beat security to cling to a Lagos-bound Arik flight.
Addressing newsmen in Benin, Chief Security Officer at the Benin Airport Adebayo Sunday said the boy was arrested by the airport security operatives while attempting to stow away in an Arik aircraft at the tarmac.
He said when interrogated, the boy who was hiding at zone 223 running waiting to board the aircraft, said he wanted to travel to Abuja and that he was tired of living in Benin.
The suspect, who claimed to be a patient of Psychiatric Hospital in Benin, blamed his action on spiritual attack.
The boy is currently being detained at the Airport police station.
