NANS Condemn Killing Of 50 Students In Yobe, Charges FG, Security Agencies To Be Alive To Their Responsibilities

50 students of the College of Agriculture, Damaturu, Yobe State were callously and cruely killed on Sunday by gun men suspected to be members of the dreaded Islamic Militant group, Boko Haram. The students were massacred in their respective hostels.

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has condemned the killing with a call to the federal government and security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities and ensure that the war against the menace of Boko haram is fought and pursued to logical Conclusion.

NANS, in a statement signed by Maxwell Adeyemi Adeleye unbehalf of it’s National President, Yinka Gbadebo, lampooned Boko Haram and their sponsors, christening them agents of peace and tranquility and development.

“We wish to condemn the brutal, cruel and irresponsible killing of our members in Yobe. Why the leaders of tomorrow now become the target of Boko Haram members and their sponsors is still unknown to us. May peace depart from the homes of those responsible for the attack. They shall never live to enjoy the fruit of their labour. We also wish to charge the federal government and the security agencies to be alive to their responsibilities. Nigerian students are tired of the often response of “We are on top of the situation” to Boko Haram attacks from the Presidency. we declare that we are tired of burying our colleagues. May the souls of our departed members rest peacefully on the bosom of our dear lord. Mr. President, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, State Security Services, we say Enough is Enough! “‘ the statement read.
