‘Our doors are open to Amaechi’- Rivers ACN

THE Action Congress of Nigeria said on Sunday that its doors were open to Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.

Rivers State Chairman of the ACN, Mr. Esuku M. Esuku, who made this remark in a telephone interview with The PUNCH, explained that the opposition party had always kept its doors open.

Amaechi, who was suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party over the suspension of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Chairman, Mr. Timothy Nsirim, and 17 councillors, had on Saturday threatened to leave the ruling party.

The governor warned that he would not hesitate to leave if the PDP insisted on the reversal of the suspension of the council chairman as a precondition for his recall to the party.

“I will lead the people of Rivers State and I will lead you. If they suffocate us in the PDP and we need to move, we move! We will continue to struggle for our rights,” he said
