Union fights GM Maiduguri Flour Mills over N1billion fraud
About 300 armed Policemen, loaded in 10 trucks stormed the premises of the Maiduguri Flour Mills in Borno state, to prevent the Company’s union from removing a corrupt General Manager, Alhaji Adamu Badejo over allegation of N1 billion fraud.
DailyPost in Maiduguri gathered that, last week, the Union officials took up a corruption case against the General Manager, and reported him to the Company’s head office, Flour Mills, Apapa in Lagos where they urged the Management to sack the General Manager, Adamu Badejo for various corruption offences.
According to sources within the Company, the Management at the head office gave their full support to the union and commended them on their stand against corruption, promising them that they would not allow Maiduguri Flour Mills to fold up, also promising them that the GM’s sack was inevitable.
“We returned to Maiduguri after our meeting, but the GM could not come with us because he is afraid to come. However, today, while we are at the office, we saw over ten trucks full of police in our premises that the GM went and told the Police Commissioner that the union want to killed him if he comes to office. The union members were invited to the Police headquarters and we were told that all their handsets were collected to frustrate all kinds of communication. We do not know what is going on now as we cannot communicate with them.
“The GM is very corrupt, he might have induced the Police Commissioner with money, for him to have sent in such a number of police to a company like this.
“We are going to take the matter to our head office in Lagos, and we would petition EFCC and ICPC on this.” he said.
