Long queues in banks, as Borno residents make last minute withdrawals ahead of Easter

Long queue has emerged at different Banks and designated ATM machines within Maiduguri metropolis, as Easter break draws close. Usman Shehu who spoke who spoke with DailyPost said he was at the bank to make withdrawal because he had to leave for his village to celebrate the Easter. He told DailyPost that the era of spending such holiday in Maiduguri was long gone, as he can’t stay back due to security issues . “Most of the people making withdrawals want to go and celebrate in their home town out of fear, because Maiduguri is no longer safe for any kind of celebration. The city is full of uncertainty as peace and violence now struggle to co-exist.” he said Another resident Yahay Dauda told Daily Post that, he was making withdrawal to buy things for the Easter and to celebrate with his family. Asked whether he would be travelling for the Easter, he said, “I would have loved to travel, but I do not have enough for the whole family, so, we are going to celebrate it here, but on a low key.” Daily post
