Gunmen set schools ablaze in Borno
Three schools were on Saturday night burnt down by gunmen in Biu town, located in the southern part of Borno State. The incident occurred during the curfew hours, resident told Daily Trust yesterday.
Sources told our correspondent that three private schools were attacked while several explosions were heard.
Our correspondent also gathered that the schools attacked include; Godiya Primary School, Standard Private School and Lajada Private School, all located within the town.
“We woke up in the morning (Sunday) to see that three private schools have been burnt down, despite the fact that curfew begins at 5:30pm’’,a source said.
No official statement on the incident yet, but a security source confirmed the attack.
