Four Boko Haram Members Killed in Yobe – JTF
The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Yobe State said on Wednesday that it killed at least four suspected members of Boko Haram in a gun duel in the north-eastern border city of Gaidam.
Gaidam is located 230 km away from Damaturu, the state capital.
Lieutenant Eli Lazarus, the spokesman of the JTF in Yobe State, told journalists in an e-mailed statement that the sect attempted to attack a military formation but were repelled.
"The incident occurred yesterday around 5PM when suspected terrorists attacked JTF location in Geidam town. The attack was repelled by the JTF and four of the gunmen lost their lives in the exchange gun fire," Mr. Lazarus said.
He added, "Three AK47 rifles, five rifles magazines and seventy two rounds of 7.62 mm ammunitions were recovered from the insurgents."
