Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Gambo Salau has resigned his position in the 40-man Assembly.
The speaker in a statement, Tuesday said his resignation was sequel to the mass defection of PDP lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The former speaker stressed that the defection of member of the assembly to the opposition party contradicts his principles.
Gambo Salau therefore declared that he is still a PDP member.
26 members of the assembly yesterday declares that they have dumped the PDP to the APC, with more members who were not resent at the sitting where the members declares their intention expected to join in the decampment soon.
