A lot had been said in relation to the refusal of Yinka Gbadebo, National President, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to, on behalf of over 40millions Nigerian Students, mobilize students and declare his unflinching support for the governorship aspiration of Comrade Tony Nwoye, a former National President of NANS.
It is not a fallacy that many persons out of ignorance had already been calling Yinka names; some said he betrayed his senior cadre; Some had tagged Yinka a conservative element looking for money to siphon. However, for the sake of clarity and most importantly, the already misinformed general public, I wish to tell the whole world the true side of the story.
Compatriots, it should be told that we have clinically observed from a critical examination that Tony Nwoye still assumes that NANS remains his property because he was a former NANS President and so, he can always command the incumbent NANS leaders around at will. However, it is only logical for a rational-thinking person to agree that just because he was a former NANS President doesn’t implies his absolute control over NANS or that NANS will champion his governorship campaign (which is already in messy); because, NANS wasn’t formed for electioneering.
I write to avow that Tony had been helped repeatedly by NANS but he never for once appreciated those who sacrificed their time and as well risked their lives for him. He love taking people for granted and has no respect for the dignity of his fellow comrades. It is therefore not an overstatement that Tony Nwoye is an ungrateful man looking for sympathy and support from those he never appreciated. For record purpose, Tony till date had never said ‘THANK YOU’ to the likes of Yinka Gbadebo Ayefele, Yinka Dada Saddam, Femi Osabinu Struggle, Israel Idowu Aristotle and innumerable numbers of former NANS Leaders who staged a-never-seen-before protest at the front of the National Assembly sometimes ago, demanding that Speaker Aminu Tambuwa should swear him in as a Member of the Federal House of Representatives following the judgement of a court of appeal sitting in Enugu, having been pronounced as the authentic candidate of his party in the 2011 poll.
Country people, would you believe that even as I write, Tony never bothered to appreciate the solidarity of his compeers neither did he made any effort to assist the leadership of NANS in demobilizing those Comrades who came from different states across the country to Abuja in his interest? Without being immodest, Tony Nwoye as at today is a wounded lion looking for whom to tear into pieces as a result of his frustration occasioned by the perfidy that characterized the Anambra PDP primary election. He now vents his anger on Yinka, claiming NANS has abandoned him.
My country people, if I may ask:
- Was Yinka Gbadebo the cause of the internal wrangles in his crisis-ridden Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State?
- Was Yinka Gbadebo a juror in the court of competent jurisdiction that sat on his case from where he was deposed as his party’s flag-bearer?
- Was Yinka the one that made Tony not to be appreciative of his helpers in the past?
-Can Tony tell the public the cause(s) of his disagreement with Dr. Andy Uba and Chief Patrick Uba respectively?
With due respect to the age and intellectual humility of Tony Nwoye, I wish to assure him that all his plans to discredit the current NANS executive members will crash like the wall of Jericho. His anti-progressive errand-comrades, the NANS Deputy Senate President, Comrade John Shima from Benue State University and Comrade Dan Onjey, former NANS President will fail in their bid to destroy the integrity of this present leadership of NANS.
Additionally, let me say a big thank you to the Judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to have appropriately dangled the most significant axe of justice on Tony Nwoye for his unpreparedness and breach of procedure. Can someone tell me the content of Tony Nwoye’s manifesto? Does he have one? I challenge him to make his manifesto public to be perused!
As Tony Nwoye has declared war on NANS, the noble Organization that made him; we wish to also inform him and his gang of renegades that we are equally ready to engage them from all angles and dimensions. The impending battle is meant to protect the dignity of NANS. Definitely, since we rest on the pillar of truth, justice and fairness; with the support of the gods of struggle (Aluta); victory is certain!
Fellow Compatriots, let Tony continue to wail in his agony of defeat informed by his sheer act of ingratitude to his helpers; who say he would not be more horrible terrifying if he becomes the Governor of Anambra State?
Whatever man sows; so he shall reap!
