Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola has said that the state government is planning to introduce special rural posting allowance to encourage its workforce to serve in the rural areas.
The Governor stated this today at the second edition of an interactive public feedback programme tagged “Gbangbadekun" which took place at Baptist Day School, Oke Ejigbo, Ila-Orangun.
Aregbesola said as soon as the bill goes to the State House of Assembly and becomes law, workers from grade level 12 who want to get promotion will have to pass through the rural areas for at least three years.
He explained that 25% of their basic salary will be added to their take home pay as rural posting allowance to serve as encouragement.
The Governor also promised to intervene in the boundary dispute between the people of Edemosi in Osun and the Okemesi community of Ekiti State.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Sunday Akere said the programme is a feedback programme designed to get public response so as to know how the government is performing with a view to knowing the popular next line of action.
