WHY CRISIS PERSISTS IN NIGERIA - Sheikh Abdullahi Akinbode

The Worldwide Missioner of Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), Sheikh Abdullahi Akinbode yesterday said the breakdown in family values and intolerance is among the causes of the protracted crises ravaging the country.
The panacea for this is caring for the less privilege in the society is a major cure.
He was speaking in Abuja at a Ramadan lecture organized by the NASFAT Abuja Branch, with the theme, “Muslim Families and Socio-Economic Challenges: Issues and Prospects”.
According to him, humanity is one family and that the importance of serving God, obedience to parents, love to one’s wife and kindness to orphan, the poor, relatives, neighbours and maids cannot be over-emphasised as factors that promote peace in the society as stated in the Quran.
Akinbode pointed out that one of the lessons of the Ramadan is the promotion of the welfare of the vulnerable people in the society who in most cases are the poor and orphans, who if neglected could take up arms against each other and the society.
