NYAKO’S MEN CONFIRM PLANS TO MOVE TO APC

Members of Governor Murtala Nyako’s political camp in Adamawa State said they have concluded plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the  All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor’s spokesman Alhaji Ahmad Sajoh told Daily Trust in Yola that supporters of Nyako have lost confidence in the ability of the party under Alhaji Bamanga Tukur to give them a fair playground in the next election.
Sajoh said thousands of disenchanted PDP members who were not happy with the manner in which their principal was pushed to the sidelines have resolved to decamp to the APC, saying discussion have since commenced with the three elements of APC.
In his words “We are discussing with the ACN, the CPC and the ANPP because APC represents the most viable option to PDP, the terms offered by each of them determines the door through which the Nyako political family will join the APC”.
The spokesperson maintained that stakeholders of the PDP have consulted with the first son of the governor, Commander Abdulaziz Nyako (rtd) who participated as a dutiful son interested in protecting the integrity of his father.
He said the stakeholders decided to involve Abdulaziz in view of the commendable role he played for the success of the state of emergency imposed of the state by President Goodluck Jonathan where he created understanding between residents and members of Joint Task Force (JTF).
He however said Governor Nyako was not involved in the process of consultations because he has a mandate of the people under the PDP as such he would remain in the party.
“Those of us who are interested in having a platform to contest election and those who want to determine who contest naturally became apprehensive and decided that there should be contact and consultations at various levels before we are caged,” he said.
Daily Trust investigation revealed that the Nyako camp had actually decided to decamp to the ANPP and had since sealed a deal with the leadership of the party and its presidential candidate in the last elections, former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau.
