JTF Relaxes Curfew In Yobe

The Joint Security Task Force (JTF) in collaboration with the Yobe State government has reviewed curfew period in the state.

In a statement issued by JTF spokesman, Eli- Lazarus, he explained that the curfew has been relaxedto allow people go about their routine chores.

According to him, the restriction of movement now starts from 10 pm to 6 am across the state.

He said:“The JTF wishes to appreciate the patience and cooperation of members of the general public with security agents. Cooperation and timely provision of information by people across the state have helped the JTF in its task of ensuring peace and security.

“The JTF calls on the general public not to relent in reporting any suspicious movements in their communities or neighbourhood and to continue to assist and cooperate with security agents in the interest of peace and security”, he said.

The special adviser to thegovernor on political and legislative matter, Alhaji Mai-Mala Buni Gari, has commended the federal government for providing grants for victims of Boko Haram insurgency.

He told LEADERSHIP Sunday in Damaturu, the state capital that the federal government and the minister of state for finance, Dr Yerima Ngama, have shown support for “our people as we collectively bring peace in our state and Nigeria in general”.

He noted that the federal government has done a lot in “addressing security problems faced by our dear state and other parts of the north-east zone”.
