Jodi Arias convicted of premeditated boyfriend of murder






A California woman has been found guilty of premeditated murder in the shooting and stabbing death of her boyfriend in his Arizona home in 2008.

A jury said Jodi Arias, 32, had planned the killing of Travis Alexander, 30, a motivational speaker and salesman.

Prosecutors said Arias was manipulative and had meticulously planned the crime.

Initially blaming the killing on an intruder, Arias later said she had killed him in self defence after he attacked her.

Arias, who testified in her own trial for 18 days, wept quietly as the verdict was read.

The trial, with testimony of sex and violence, has gained an outsized media interest in the US.
