EFCC arrests NFF Vice President over graft
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Vice President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Mike Umeh.
The commission's spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said Umeh was picked up by operatives of the Commission today in Lagos following a warrant by a Sokoto High Court.
"He will tomorrow, May 28, 2013 appear before Justice Bello Abass of the Sokoto High Court," says Uwujaren.
According to a statement from the anti-graft agency, "Umeh is an accomplice in the case of money laundering and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N15billion for which former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa of Sokoto State is standing trial."
