Gunmen kill two merrymakers in Niger

    
Gunmen invaded Shadna village in Bosso Local Government of Niger State killing two persons at about 11pm on Tuesday during their monthly traditional dance event.

Our correspondent gathered that three other persons reportedly sustained bullet injuries in the invasion of the village by the gunmen.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen who were three in number shot sporadically into the air and strayed bullets hit two of the villagers leading to their instant death and causing serious injuries to three other persons.

It was gathered that the injured persons were rushed to an undisclosed hospital while the dead have been buried according to Islamic rites.

The Police Public Relation Officer PPRO in the state Richard Adamu Oguche (ASP) who confirmed the report explained that the Command has beefed up security in the community in order to forestall any further attack on the community.

He urged members of the community to remain calm and assist the police with useful information on the activities of strange movements in their area for prompt action,
