A 7-year-old girl letter to Lego, criticizing its gender stereotyping in toys, has gone viral.
Charlotte Benjamin's father submitted an image of the photo to Sociological Images, which reposted it on Twitter and Facebook.
It has since received 1390 likes on Twitter and 4107 likes on Facebook.
In the letter, Charlotte writes of her frustration with a lack of Lego options for girls.

'I am 7 years old and I love legos but I don’t like that there are more Lego boy people and barely any Lego girls,' she writes.
Charlotte's letter also point out how many children's toys are color-coded, with pink for girls and blue for boys.
'Today I went to a store and saw legos in two sections the girls pink and the boys blue,' she writes. 'All the girls did was sit at home, go to the beach, and shop, and they had no jobs but the boys went on adventures, worked, saved people, and had jobs, even swam with sharks.'
'I want you to make more Lego girl people and let them go on adventures and have fun ok!?!'

The letter has since received many positive comments.
'Couldn’t agree more!’ said one user, Metro reports.
Another wrote ‘So true. Gendered toys have gotten so much worse since the 80s. Disgusting,' the news site reports.
Another heaped praise on her, saying 'Charlotte is going to change the world.'
Sociological Images itself has described Charlotte's letter as an example of 'how social media can be used to put pressure on companies to change.
