APC inaugurates interim leadership in Borno

    
The All Progressives Congress, on Saturday inaugurated an Interim Leadership Committee to oversee the affairs of its Borno State chapter pending the election of executives for the party.

The APC National Secretary, Alhaji Tijjani Tumsa, who presided over it in Maiduguri, said that the objective was to lay a foundation for the development of the party.

“It is a well-known fact that Borno is currently at the center of Nigerian discourse due to many factors.

“Borno is also at the center of the APC politics because it is a fore runner in the development of the party’’, he said.

Tumsa advised members of the interim committee to live up to expectations by allowing internal democracy in all their endeavors.

He also urged them to be open and to ensure fairness among party members.

Responding, Chairman of the interim committee, Sen. Kaka Yale, promised to provide a level playing ground for all members of the party.

“We intend to provide a level playing ground for all members of the party during our tenure. We believe that all members of the party are equal.

“I pledge to work for the interest of all towards developing the party”, he said.

Other members of the committee included Alhaji Mustapha Shehuri, the Vice Chairman, and Alhaji Sanda Garba who will serve as the Secretary.

Alhaji Umar Ngala is the Organising Secretary while Alhaji Kawu Damboa is the Youth Leader.

Hajiya Fatima Kakirna was given the post of Welfare Secretary while Alhaji Shugaba Umara will serve as the Treasurer, among others.
