Return to Northern Governors’ Forum Is the Result of Pressure from Northern Elders - Yuguda
Mr. Yuguda, who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Yusuf Gumli, on Tuesday in a chat with reporters at Government House, Bauchi, stated the following:
"I quit the forum in realization of the unfairness as regard the earlier decision of the forum that nominated Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau for the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF Chairman," he said.
He also said the decision to rejoin the forum was as a result of prevailing pressure from the Northern elders who urged him to reconsider his position.
"It was prevailed on me that I must go back to the Northern Governors Forum," the governor added, according to his aide.
Asked whether Mr. Yuguda's decision to return to the forum is hinged on his political ambition, the governor's aide stated that it is not a crime for anyone to nurse a political ambition.
"Is there anything bad for someone to aspire to any political office in the land," Mr. Gumli asked, stressing that as long as a person "follows the legitimate way of acquiring power, it is alright."
"Whatever comes along one's way is the act of God," he added
