Pandemonium in Minna over bomb scare

There was pandemonium at the Niger State House of Assembly Complex, on Monday, over bomb scare that saw many of the government workers and visitors scampering for safety.

A container filled with some dirty materials placed upside down on the way leading to the section where office of the Head of Service was located, was speculated to be hiding Improvised Explosive Devices.

It was gathered that on sighting the object, people were scared as they took to their heels shouting ‘Bomb! Bomb!! Bomb!!!’ after which members of the Niger State Police Command were immediately contacted.

An anti-bomb Police team led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Emmanuel Olokor, was immediately dispatched to the scene. It however, turned out that the container was not concealing any bomb but actually a container filled with dirts.

The police boss later held the object up and threw away the contents after which he assured the onlookers that the object was not a bomb as earlier rumoured.

Olokor thereafter advised the workers to go about their duties without any fear or intimidation.
