“They did not molest us, indeed the SSS folks were very professional.”
The Department of State Security Service, SSS, has released some protesters, hours after they were arrested in Abuja.
Blogger, Japhet Omojuwa, and five others were arrested on Wednesday afternoon as they joined others to protest the death of at least 17 people in nationwide recruitment tests by the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The names of the other protesters arrested were given as Calvin Lawan, Uche Briggs, Ikeolu Senbanjo, Tosin Adex and a Mr. Ogunmola.
The detained protesters were released at about 8 p.m. and their phones handed back to them. The police asked that they report tomorrow (Thursday).
An upbeat Mr. Omojuwa was quoted as saying “they did not molest us; indeed the SSS folks were very professional.”
