SENATE POSTPONES SCREENING OF MINISTERIAL NOMINEES

The 12 ministerial nominees forwarded to the Senate by President Goodluck Jonathan will have to wait for another week for them to be screened as the upper legislative is not through with the debate on the 2014 budget bill Senate spokesman Eyinnaya Abaribe has said.
Senate leader Victor Ndoma-Egba had told Daily Trust last week that the senate will commence screening of the nominees this week after concluding with the second reading of the 2014 appropriation bill.
However, the red chamber could not conclude debate on the budget bill last Thursday and is to continue the exercise tomorrow.
Abaribe (PDP, Abia) told Daily Trust: “Budget debate must be concluded before ministerial screening”.
