Police Hold Five G-7 Governors Hostage In Kano Governor’s Lodge


At least five of the group of seven aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and some other persons were Sunday evening held hostage by a detachment of police officers at the Kano state Governors’ Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

The five Governors were holding a meeting at the lodge was the detachment of police fficers arrived the venue and took over the premises.



The detachment of policemen was reportedly led by the DPO of Asokoro police division.

The DPO spotted in orange polo shirt barges into G7 governors meeting with a retinue of officers. He was said to have been enaraged after the governors dare him to do his worst.

One of our sources said there was initial tension when the security details of the governors tried to deny entry to the DPO and his retinue of officers.

The siege lasted for a while before the governors were allowed to leave the venue. They have since dispersed
