“GROOM DIES MOMENTS AFTER WEDDING IN KADUNA”

It was a black Saturday for a new bride at the weekend in Kaduna when her joy turned into tears few hours after marriage as her groom died.

The incident happened on Saturday in Kafanchan, Jema local government area in Southern Kaduna.

According to a source, who was at the wedding, the groom was rushed to hospital immediately after church service, on realising that he was seriously ill and needed urgent medical attention.

The source, who asked not to be named in print, said: the wedding solemnization finished successfully at ECWA Goodnews Church, Garaje, Kafanchan, before the groom, identified as Timothy Gaiya, died.

“On Friday, he took ill and managed to make it to church on Saturday morning. But he was fine in the course of church service, and after the church service, he was weak and was rushed to Kafanchan General Hospital where drips and drugs were administered on him. Later on, he was taken back to the reception, but rushed back to hospital where he was confirmed dead. This was what happened, and we were all confused and very devastated, and still in Kafanchan now as we speak, planning for the funeral.”

He confirmed that the deceased had a history of an illness, but it never got worst like it happened during the wedding, saying:

“There is no human being that is not suffering from one illness or the other, yes he used to be down but it has never happened like this. We are all sad and may his soul rest in peace. Life is really nothing but transient in nature and full of mysteries.”

As at the time of this report, hundreds of mourners were still trooping to commiserate with the widow and his parents.
